“The SCGA applauds and supports the efforts of Save PS Golf to tout the societal value proposition represented by the Tahquitz Golf Resort – “value” to the city’s local homeowners, local businesses, local golfers, and local schools/junior golf programs. The Coachella Valley sports a lot of golf, but very little of it offers the affordable, accessible experience that Tahquitz does. SCGA will continue to support and work with Palm Springs stakeholders like Save PS Golf who want to preserve it and add whatever wisdom our 122-year-old association might be able to offer in the effort to make Tahquitz Golf Resort a fully self-sustaining financial operation.”
Craig Kessler, SCGA Governmental Affairs Director
"The Tahquitz Creek Women’s Golf Club is happy to endorse Save PS Golf, a grassroots organization whose goal is to preserve the Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort properties. Their passion and energy has been swift and far reaching since inception. Our own Tahquitz Creek Women’s Golf Preservation Committee will work closely with and support the Save PS Golf team. The mutual goal and mission is to preserve the Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort properties as a vital part of the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley community, offering an affordable and complete golf experience for residents and visitors alike, while adding value to the city of Palm Springs."
Donna Kirsch, President
"The membership of the Tahquitz Creek Men's Golf Club wants to see the facilities at Tahquitz Creek remain as a jewel in the crown of the City of Palm Springs and supports the
preservation of the Tahquitz Creek Golf Club as an active golf course facility with its two beautiful golf courses."
Robert Boetto, President
"Los Pueblos Association wholeheartedly endorses Save PS Golf. As public courses, the Tahquitz courses have not only brought recreational opportunities to all comers (including youth) at a reasonable price, but they also provide walking opportunities to all, a draw for tourists who patronize businesses in the City of Palm Springs (thereby generating sales tax revenue for the City), habitat for wildlife, increases in property values (which result in additional property tax revenue to the County/City) and just plain beauty. We have plenty of opportunities to observe desertscape in, and in the vicinity of, Palm Springs. It is quite a treat to be able to see beautiful fairways, whether or not you are a golfer, irrigated by 100% reclaimed water. Serenity and exercise are good for the community’s ambiance and mental health."
Teresa Farrell, President
"Stonewall Golfers Association strongly supports the efforts of Save PS Golf in its efforts to protect, save and preserve the only municipal golf course in Palm Springs which provides affordable golf to residents, youth, tourists and snowbirds."
Charlie Griffin, President
"The Fairways wholeheartedly endorses the objective of SAVE PS GOLF and that is to make sure that Tahquitz Creek Golf Courses remain municipal golf courses."
It is especially important to us because of our proximity and our popular usage by our homeowners and renters. In fact, in some cases our owners have chosen Fairways because of its proximity to the golf courses. We have many active members in our 186 unit home property, who enjoy hiking, pickle ball, tennis and golfing among other activities.
We have plenty of places to enjoy a walk in a desertscape and object to the OLT posing the issue as and either -or proposition which puts housing and development against a desert hiking property. The reality is that it puts a highly sought after recreation property owned by the city against desert landscape whose transformation is uncertain. The uncertainty might also include increase in wild animals and the homeless.
We believe that the city of Palm Springs should have more inventory in their Parks and Recreation Department rather than less, which is what would happen if Oswitt Land trust would take away this valuable recreational property supported directly by taxes as well as by tourists. We appreciate the affordable rates; the reclaimed water usage and the beauty it affords within Palm Springs.
Keep both courses at Tahquitz Golf Club! It is a gem in the desert.
